What We Believe
God and Creation: We believe God the Father created all things and that Jesus God's son was there leading creation of the earth in the Genesis chapter 1 & 2 account of creation. John 1:1-5. The flood has completely changed the topography and climate of the earth as well as the culture of man. Genesis 7:11, 8:2, 8:22, 9:1-3
Greatest Commandments: Loving God is the greatest command and of most importance in one's life and the second greatest command is love your neighbor. Matthew 22:36-40, Galatians 5:14, 6:2, Romans 13:8-10
Doctrinal Statement: Our stance in this area is that we do not have a Doctrinal Statement and that the Bible/Holy Scriptures is our Doctrinal Statement. 2 Timothy 3:16
Salvation: We believe salvation is by grace through faith and one cannot work their way into salvation, but we are saved for good works. Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans chapters 3-5
Holy Baptism: In the scripture we see that our Savior Jesus came up out of the water after he was baptized. Matthew 3:13-17. We believe baptism is a sign of faith and that one is commissioned to be baptized when they are mature enough to make such a decision. We do not baptize babies, but we do have a special time of dedication to the Lord as the parents of the baby chose to dedicate their child to God.
Holy Communion: Jesus instituted the Holy Sacrament of Communion in Matthew 22:15-20. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 11:23-31 that we must examine ourselves and have a time of confession to Jesus of any wrong doing in our life. When Holy Communion is done properly one is cleansed from all sin and made just as if they had never sinned in the sight of God through faith in Jesus' atonement. 1 John 1:9, John 1:29
The Function of the Church: Jesus established the Church, or His body of Believers, so we can have community and build each other up and share our faith with others. Colossians 1:24, Acts 2:42-47. We all need social interaction and the Church should be a safe place to do this. The Church is not a building, but it is the Christians who congregate in a facility. Acts 15:30, 1 Corinthians 11:18, 16:19. Church membership is only by salvation through Jesus' blood. Historically in our fellowship the term for church membership is "every blood bought one". We also believe Christians are over-comers 1 John 5:4
